Take Rate For Manual Transmission In 2014 Corvette Stingray Remains High

2014 Corvette Stingray Yellow Empty House

Buyers of the 2014 Corvette Stingray can’t get enough of the seven-speed manual transmission and optional Z51 performance package, General Motors recently revealed to Edmunds.
A surprising 40 percent of C7 Corvette buyers opt for the seven-speed manual transmission, with the rest opting for the six-speed automatic. An eight-speed automatic transmission, nearly identical to the one which will be found in the upcoming 2015 Corvette Z06, will be offered on the Stingray for the 2015 model year. We’ll have to wait and see if the new lightning-fast automatic entices more customers away from the row-your-own option.
Another 55 percent of buyers check off the option Z51 Performance Package on the options list. The Z51 pack includes larger 19-inch front and 20-inch rear wheels and tires, larger slotted brake rotors, an electronic limited slip differential, unique chassis tuning and Magnetic Ride Control.
Chevrolet Spoksman Monte Doran also told Edmunds the Corvette Stingray is “in short supply”. GM currently has a 27 day supply of the sports car on hand, which is below the industry average. So far, 19,915 2014 Corvette Stingrays have been sold since the car’s launch last year.
